Saracens upset Enfield Ignations
Saracens All Blacks 13-18 Finsbury Park RFC
Saracens Hoops 19-11 Enfield Ignations
Two teams travelled away to Enfield Ignations who also hosted Finsbury Park RFC.
A youthful All Blacks faced the 10 men of Finsbury Park in a rematch from two weeks ago. The All Blacks with clear instructions from the head coach Jack, started off slow, taking over a quarter to reach one hundred percent. Initially the All Blacks focused attacking around the breakdown in attempts to breaching the defence, but Finsbury Park's defence was too organised, leading to several turn overs on phases.
The second half was considerably better, 8-5 down, the damage already done. The All Blacks with their youth, exploited spaces through the wings, creating very easy line breaks. The combination of line breaks as well as starting slow, cost the team in the end, although champagne rugby flowed throughout the second half often only requiring one or two passes to create a line breach and panic within the defence.
On the other side of the barrier, the Hoops and Ignations were evenly matched in the first half. The pivotal moment in the match tipping the Hoops to victory, came from a early second half sending off. An Enfield Ignations player saw red with two yellow cards, one for foul play and another immediately after being shown the first through backchat to the referee.
The champagne rugby started to flow, with some excellent creative chances only facing nine men. In the Latter half of the match Rob (normally a Fly Half, not known for his spectacular kicks) managed to kick a perfect grubber outside the twenty two, sitting up perfectly to be caught in mid stride by Felix for the try.
